'Archery Master' Kyung Hee University, Gyeyang Open International Competition Individual Gold and Silver Medals 'Cheerful'

Kyung Hee University, a prestigious archery team in college, achieved one gold medal and one silver medal in the men's and women's individual archery competition at the "2025 Gyeyang Open."

Kyung Hee University, led by head coach Choi Hee-ra and coach Kim Hee-kwan, won the women's individual final on the last day of the competition at Araon Suhyangwon in Gyeyang, Incheon on the 24th, beating Kim Seo-young (Incheon City Hall) by a set score of 6-0.

"I wasn't sure because I wasn't in a good position during practice ahead of this tournament," Kim said. Kim Se-yeon, who advanced to the finals with a poor performance of 39th place in the preliminary round, advanced to the final with a 6-2 victory over Han Joo-hee (Dongseo University), and Kim Seo-young also beat Cho Ah-reum (Hyundai Department Store) 6-2 in the final.

Kim Se-yeon put her first foot on 10 points in the first set of the final, leading Kim Seo-young, who scored only eight points, and allowed the second arrow to tie the score 17-17. However, he put his third foot on 10 points to take a 27-25 lead and took a two-point lead to gain the upper hand.

In the second set, Kim Se-yeon also shot her first shot at 10 points and shot both 2nd and 3rd arrows at 9 points, beating Kim Seo-young who shot 9·8·10 again 28-27 to take a 2-0 lead in the set score.

Kim Sei-yeon also led from the first arrow in the third set. After leading 10-9, the second arrow shot nine points to clinch a total of 27-25 with a 8-7 lead on the final shot.

Meanwhile, Kim Ye-chan (3 years) of Kyung Hee University was completely defeated by Lee Seung-shin (28-29 28-28 25-28 26-29) in the men's individual final, and had to settle for the runner-up.
